Ford Made in America reflects the timeless American tradition of working together towards a common goal. In this case, it is a collaboration of an extensive nationwide network of smallbudget orchestras performing a new work from composer Joan Tower. As a celebration of American diversity, at least one orchestra from each state will perform this new composition. At Ford Motor Company Fund, we are proud to support a project that unites communities from Maine to Hawaii in an experience that explores and celebrates the meaning of America.
This project echoes America's embrace of many people and their traditions. Each performance of this work will convey the individual orchestra’s artistic style, and the unifying theme of Ms. Tower’s work will be translated and transformed in a vast array of communities. Under the guidance of the League of American Orchestras and Meet The Composer, Ford Made in America will allow each orchestra to tell its own story.
We believe that the arts have the ability to transform, educate, and inspire. Ford Motor Company Fund is proud to be part of this partnership, which crosses geographic, socioeconomic, and cultural boundaries to bring this music to many communities across the country.
